Hi James, very dramatic and powerful shot; the tones in the sky and the fallen birch form a fantastic subject, and complement eachother perfectly. This one is screaming to be framed. Heavily.
Cheers,
Hugo

Wow, certainly a lot of water movement Jim - guess it was just too much for the old tree.
Super photograph, don't get too close to the river !
Best wishes, Steve

Very good capture, James. And the sky doesn't promise good for the dead hero's companions.

James that is such a remarkable shot, so dramatic and beautiful, the light and dark against the muddy swollen waters. Fantastic 7++++ and in my favourites Margaret

A very dramatic weather day. the dark intense clouds and the strong light add alot of drama to the poor trees demise. Beautifully taken. Alison

Well named Jim a nice shot. I love the starkness of the dead tree against the ones next to it and the dark skies and water. Lovely emotional, story shot. Great stuff.

No worries.....I just thought Billy needed a chin so his food wouldn't dribble out.

BTW, thanks for what you did to "Billy", he feels much better now that he has a chin. I'm just not quite PS good enough to do that yet:) But I'm working on it.

The contrast b/w the tree and the sky really does make this picture, obviously. Well portrayed James, Kerry

:), Judi, this tree just looked so awesome against that dark mean sky. The river is swollen and running fast, I just couldn't pass it by. Thanks:)

Beautiful capture. I really like the angle but I just love that sky. But I suppose that really doesn't surprise you!!
