Den, there are a lot of people over hear that think the desert is all sand and rock. Most are very suprised when they really get to see it. It does get very warm from now on through the summer until about the first of October. It is close to 90 degrees here today. Thanks for your great comments. Don.

So educational to us Brits Don. I always think of the desert as being bone dry and featureless. This shows how attractive it CAN be. The shadows of the distant cliffs seem so cooling and judging by the shadow length the sun must have been pretty high and presumably hot. That's what comes over anyway.

In the early spring months the snakes and scorpions are still holed up. From now on you might get to see some snakes. When we stayed in Tucson in the winter I would kill a rattler about every year. We were right on the desert so they were in and around the cactus.
