About Out at the usual haunt, enjoying the sunshine and warm breezes. I liked how these three weeds stood out against the sea and the colour combination of the yellow and blue.

Your excellent artist's eye, has caught this scene, that most of us wouldn't, Kim. Wonderful DOF, isolates these wheat-like flowers, perfectly.
Gold and blue. Beautiful. And I couldn't think of a better title.

Displaced threads from the prairies, lost, and then found.(!). Excellent background blur, though a little soft at the focal point. I imagine the scan has more detail. Cheers.

Beautiful contrast of the sunlit yellow tops against that rich blue! The way the stalks fade away in focus gives me the feeling of the weeds 'reaching out' from some depths...
I think the bright, out-of-focus swirl in the lower-left third competes a little for attention with the three weed tops, but it doesn't necessarily detract, either (nothing like a little ambivalence, eh? :)

Hi Kim - good to see a post from you. Lovely blue in the background. For me, some of the other details in the background are as important as the foreground material and you must have composed with that in mind. Having the in-focus straws all in focus might have been a nice variation.

Thats what I say see something with you eyes and try to bring it out the best you can with your camera. Like the colors and dof. Excellent compositiion.

I like how you captured the sunlight on these 3 stalks. It provides a nice contrast between the warm colors of the weeds against the cool blues in the background.

I just had a 'duh' moment when I realized that you are located in one of my favorite places on the planet. Must be one of the many reasons I am drawn to your work!

Excellent shot, the background is superbly blurry, you can't see it altough you can! Wonderfull colours, and a nice focus on the main subject of the picture. The warm almost sundown colours on the weeds is superbly snaped! Compliments on this fantastic work!

Greets,
Lex.
