Country - Thailand   Thailand
About I was travelling down the coastal highway and passing by the resort town of Khao Lak in February, and saw this patrol boat in a place it shouldnt have been. I travelled again down this road in early April, and the boat was still there. I was at a distance of 200-300 metres when shooting, and the sea was a further 400-500 metres behind me. That is the power of nature.

Incidentally, this small ship seems to have been turned into a playground, as I saw a load of people playing on it when i arrived.

For some more graphic tsunami photos, go to this link:

http://www.cbc.ca/news/photogalleries/tsunami_family/index.html

You'll see some photos from the same resort town. Have a look at the sixth photo in the slide show, and you will see what I think is this same boat before it becomes swamped.

Great shot James, this is a pretty amazing sight, and a great view of a piece of history. I saw the slide show and it does look like that boat. A sad story. Alison
