About More clouds, this time from our yard. Don't ask me why, clouds are so fascinating!

To get the colors I used a gradient map.

As I just wrote to Carsten, you both are pulling me up by my straps here -- it's great to share our techniques.

thanks very much Carsten for your thoughts! You are probably right, the way this shot shows the coulds is probably too disconnected, too abstract.

As a clouds fan, I am a bit biased, and it is a gorgeous cloudscape IMO. About the clicks, I think many people need some foreground or silhouette with the skyscape to feel comfortable. Your other cloudscape stands for itself because it shows us an unusual view from above the clouds. This picture from your yard is more common and needs probably some garniture for suspense ;-/

Dramatic ray of lights, David. Great clouds! I can see why we are so fascinated by clouds. Never be the same shape...:)

thanks Toni, it was you who made me sit down and try thr gradient map tool. The reason I never used it before was only because I had not figured out how to edit the actual gradient (I know, don't laugh). Well it's not that difficult after all and after 10 minutes I had my own gradient :)

I'm quite happy with the result, but apparently not many people found the photo that interesting. That's fine, I guess it just shows how subjetive we see things when we get excited (like me getting that gradient map to work) :)
