as an afterthought... i also like the aesthetics of cropping things out and only having a portion of the image's whole being... the tattoos are a huge part of my identity and how i see myself in this world...

Nikki,
I enjoy the manner in which your taking these photos. I think it's pretty unique from a photographic stand point. You don't find many people who are trying to accomplish what you're doing here. Self held snapshots of the photographer, as abstract and often nude.
I think that there seems to be a common reoccuring theme as well. Touching the face, covering or cropping out one eye, and your tats. Seem to all be commonplace. I'm not sure if you've set out intentionally to give us this image. But philisophically I get the sense that your images represent your own ability to over come a certain shyness (hidden faces/eyes) by showing you are proud of yourself (nakedness) and by complimenting your body with the art that you feel best represents you (the tattoos). Whether or not you feel this idea really does represent you or not, I'm not sure, but I think it comes across quite apparently.
Just a thought...
I like the photo... did I mention that?

i prefer my version of this peice. it's not only about the tattooed arm... it's about the bigger picture with the arm being the focal point but not the ONLY point. it's too detatched without the body in the photograph. thank you for showing me your image tho'... i appreciate your thoughts on it.
