About I took 3 days off and drove up the shore of Lake Superior for a mini Vacation. 3 days at a motel right on the lake shore. Slept like a baby with the sounds of the waves breaking on the beach right outside my balcony. Weather wasn;t the best, in fact this photo was taken in the rain. This is a 100% blow up with the bird cropped out of the picture. ISO 800
I watched this bird two days and they have a standard route and certain perches they use over and over.
This shot was taken on the closest branch he used. Don't leave your camera home because its lousy weather, I love this lighting.

Great shot, this bird has eluded me so many time, I get my camera up and sometimes even almost click it....poof he flies away.
Love the fish action.

thanks for the comment on the Kingfisher, I was lucky and got to set up near enough to where he was fishing. Its amazing how many minnows they eat, then back to the nest, and repeat the whole thing. Just lucky I guess
Thanks again for all your comments

It's a nice shot Jim. My only quibble is with the depth of field, which leaves the fish's tail and lower breast of the kingfisher unfocussed. Other than that, the composition, lighting and mood are excellent. Thanks for sharing this shot with us.

Had to get away, I was going nuts, then we had an OSHA incident the day i was to leave. So I had to deal with that before going. Needless to say I really relaxed. Now back to work for 2 days and then me and Mom are going for a 5 day run. going to do what i can with the comments but I wont get 125 to get caught up !!!
Feeling fine, End of June will really be the signal to back to reality till then its a mad house.
