About First light in a new camera - a budget version of a 35 mm range finder - the Yashica Electro 35 GSN. From what I'm reading on the 'net I am lucky to have found this camera with intact light seals and fully operational.

I agree with Carlheinz about white parts.
I likle his smile and I don't know why that this smile reminds me that this is an open air shot.I wished to see a light wind in his hair. but I think it's not.
my best wishes.

Really nice exposure on "Mike". I don't know anything about your new camera, but I hope to see more magic from it!

Hi Stefan, I like this... I like your lighting better, I think it adds more depth, but I definitely would remove the other persons shoulder... I thinks it's really a wonderful portrait..well done...:):)Linda

Hi Stefan,

I had an Electro 35 GT, got some lovely pics with it, but needed some money so sold it haha. Yes you're right, a lot of them have degraded light seals, but it's still a camera from an age where quality was the norm, rather than today, when the manufactures do their best to cram as much plastic into a camera as possible.

Cheers,

Tom

Very nice natural portrait, Stefan! The lighting is wonderfully even (if a little dark to my eye.) I like the edit, too, but it does isolate him a bit more from the environment. I love the graniness for portraits!

Thanks Carlheinz - I rarely try to alter photos these days but this may be a good candidate...

Your on the road of success with your new baby!
Warm and natural portrait of a strong character.
I would pump up the contrast a bit and sure remove the white part.

this portrait has a deep warmth in it... must be the relaxed expression and the shy smile... lovely tones and skin textures... this white part behind him could have been a bit distracting but it denotes that the moment the image was shot was not chosen beforehand but was on spot... a nice image as seen and taken instantly... well done and good luck with your fully operational new toy!!!! emy
