Hi Sheila, Yep always fine to edit and crop it to improve it. Unfortunately I am also learning so I don't know why an original should be grainy. Maybe ask in the forum they are always a great help. I do know that if you enlarged the photo and some things you do in editing can cause grain. But not sure. Going to find your original. BBS

Thanks for your comments. I will try here to post to you the original photo. I am still in learning mode and am not sure -- what causes some photos to be grainy? I did edit and crop it; is that OK to do? It has been my editing that inspired me to learn to do better original photos, so it has helped me. Thanks again for commenting!
...I can't seem to post the original here! I will try to post it as just a submission. Please let me know if you have any ideas how I could do a better job with it. We love the photo too, and it really captures the feel of excitement she had. Thanks!

This would be a great picture it is a pity it is so grainy. You needed sharper focuss to show the feathers and less noise. Did you try to enlarge it? YOu have caught a wonderful expression in her eyes, kind of shy but excited. The colors are great. I assume you have edited it what was the original like?
