About More from the waterlilly series. I had the best time photographing these. I have color versions of all of these which I'll post after I post all of the black and white ones. The mood really changed when I converted them. Toned and soft focus applied in PSP.

Dreamy work, the flower produced strong and powerful against the darker tone surrounding, splendid composition and elegant touch. Saeed

Almost looks like it is stretching with a yawn. I like your title. Pretty lily but I find the light round fluffy-looking shape right in front of the direction it is facing on the right side of the pic distracting. It is just bright enough to compete for my eye and I can't quite make out what it is so it is disconcerting in an otherwise lovely scene. (I'm sure its just me ...)

Laurie these are very interesting, I really like the lighting you've chosen and the composition as usual is just wonderful, a double diagonal...Well done as usual my friend...:):)Linda

Alastair,
Thanks so much--your words are always appreciated. I probably should have waited to post this because it's my favorite (I think the best in the series). This one is going up on my wall if I can find the space! :)

Everytime I think you can't get better you go and do something like this and raise the game another notch or two! The toning is fabulous and I'm sure is all the better for it (although if doing waterlillies for sale colour will almost always sell better). Great composition, the diagonal of the stem and the back plane of the flower create a very striking cross in the centre of the image. Beautiful soft feel too... Superb!
