About I apologize with being behind in my comments. I hope to catch up over the next couple of days. I do want to share with you though that I was asked to do an assignment by Australia's second largest newspaper. I completed it and my photos made front page today. So I am feeling pretty happy at the moment. I finally got the opportunity to have my work used in the newspaper market and to scoop the front page is just out of this world.

Anyway here is another image from the basketball series. I hope these are not boring you. You can see others on my website. I hope to get them uploaded here over time.

A great series, Judi. Great contrast between the athletic basketball player in bright colours and the grey sky. Superb.

Thankyou so much Kurt, both for your comment and for stopping by and viewing my images. Unfortunately it wasn't this image that made front page. It was another image that I was assigned to do. But I am still flattered with your words.

Hi Judi. I can see why this one made the front page. It's got all the classic elements of a first rate action photograph - high energy, definite subject, uncluttered backdrop. There's also some drama and mystery here: how high is the player, will he make the shot, will his shoe laces stay tied (lol)?

The smooth tonal gradations in the sky are a perfect setting for the action in the foreground.

Congratulations on your continuing success, my friend. Although I don't have much time for UF right now, I couldn't let a shot like this one go by without a a comment. You keep on showing us what can be done with one camera, one lens, and truckloads of determination and imagination! Thanks for being an inspiration. Kurt

Congratulations on your success, Judi.

"Sit down and relax" seems to be what you had to do for this series here... Frame and focus, then "Sit down.." and fire when performers in the right place.

The strategy has worked beautifully for a great series.

Awww...thanks so much Toshi. I have had my images in quite a few magazines...at least once a month and a couple of times on TV...but this was my first newspaper feature. So that was a big step for me.
