About I make no apologies for the repetition :)

I feel this alternative view is different enough, and is much more about the valley beyond the mesa formation. On the right you also see the river, 200m down and now flowing outside the National Park for the first time.

Across the valley, Serra da Babilônia.

The weather was quite changeable on this day. I thought we were going to get a soaking, but thankfully the heavy clouds passed us by. Just as well: we had to climb down the 200m on foot, having climbed up it...

+++

No crop. Just some blended layers and the usual cuves, channel mixer. Duotoned.

AMEI!!! Parabéns, excelente captura, Angelo.

Obrigada pela sua visita.
Um abraço,
Márcia.

This is really fine and on my screen at least has the appearance of a very good black and white print - I really like the foreground detail and tones - good job .. K

Dear Angelo, that's very defiant (did I spell that right?) You must apologize or we'll lock you in one of the London Eye's carriages and make you ride it for 24 hours straight :~> just a little joke of course. This one does have a different feel to it. Very nicely done, Mark Using the Arwa rating system I'll go with a 7 / 7.......

Hi Angelo,

the point is that you didn't do a pano stitching ;-)

My guess is that you may avoid cloud "cropping" by doing a vertical pano.

best wishes, Thilo

Dear Ahmeed,

Of course I do not hate you! Quite the contrary: I value your honest and challenging critique much more than the usual sterile "Nice shot" comment one gets so often.

I ask that you keep on giving your sincere opinion and pointing out where you think things could be better.

Regards, my friend.
Angelo.

Hey Armando,

Anta is the Brazilian name for "Tapirus terrestris", or the Tapir, in English.

But this waterfall is actually named after the casca-de-anta plant (Drimys winteri), known in English as Winter's-Bark.

Regards,
Angelo.

Thilo,

Maybe I misunderstood, but I can tell you there is no montage here. This is one shot, straight out of the camera. No crop, no image combinations.

And yes, it was tremendous fun, and I would recommend this National Park to anyone who goes to Brasil.

Hi Angelo,

the widescreeen effect is awesome. I envy your trip here, seems to be great fun. the clouds looked a bit cropped, so my guess for the next trip is do give some stitchings a try.

best wishes,

Thilo

Very beautiful B&W, although the duotone is so subtle I wouldn't have noticed it! I've admired your landscapes in colour and it's refreshing to see one in monochrome. Excellent choice!
