About Subject background: This may be the start of a new series, after my "Waiting in the Dark" one ;-)
This is my alternate perspective for Bradley Prue.

Brad, I hope you like it =)

PS concept: Virtually nothing. The black is actually "true", so no PS here. Light metering was done manually on the background.

Hi Andre,

as I replied to Angelo, the black part is crucial to the composing, so I would not go without it ;-)

thanks for the honest words,
Thilo

Hi Angelo,

thx for the honest feedback, my friend. Although you neglected the essence of the composing ;-)

Well, I made this shot with the black area in mind, so I won't go without it.

Hi Todd,

if you go out of the train station and head to the left, you will reach a district onto the right where you have to cross the street. there is a tube (which I show here) and other ways.

Intriguing lighting ~ love the massive darkness; the spots of light in our lives are so few :)

Very nice Thilo,
I probably would have cut away about 40% of the pure black at the bottom. I think it works well both ways though. I really like the way the cobble stones start out of the dark gradually.
Andre
ps
I just read Angelo's comment, and I wrote this before I read his. It seems I am not the only one that thinks that way about the black area.

The composition here is really creative,
Converting it to B&W adds to the picture, very well done, Cheers,

I like your honesty(here about the black part of the picture).
I like the lighting especially the lighting at the upper part of the tunnel with the curves of it, is very interesting.
I like also the composition.
best regards

Good stuff, Thilo.

Should make for an interesting series and I look forward to that.

For my taste, there is a bit too much black, especially in the bottom half of the frame. I would be tempted to try a square crop.

Beautifull thilo. Like it alot.
The "excess" darkness is well balanced with the "excess" Light at the end of the tunnel, giving emphasis to the title. Its a great photo, cant wait for the series.

Coming into yhe light and leaving the gates of hell. Very nice and sharp....it seems as though the tunnel goes on forever.
