I love the b&w version--the strong tones give the subject more impact. Very well done! :)

Yes Naomi, I wanted to have a glowing effect on the spokes. However, I say Toni's version. I also like the clear and neat definition. She did a very nice job on the shot. So, now I am more confused :) but it's a good thing. I wanted to create something more unusual with a different type of effect. I added contrast to capture the sun reflection... --- RD

THanks for your comments, very nice observation. It was a rare intensily sunny day in London. I was blocking the sun. I wanted to have that halowing effect. Just playing around... -- RD

I love both - the color in the sky is incredible in color but the details of the B&W is wonderful. Sorry - I'm NO help.

Interesting that the spokes of the wheel are white. Is that part of what you did in PS? Nice series of images, Rafael. The (rare) blue sky is nice, but I think I prefer the dramatic effect of the b&w. Nice capture and PS work. -- Naomi

k...just posted this comment to the wrong image...here it goes again:
Rafael, I just couldn't resist investigating this BW conversion. When I converted to monochrome using adjustment layer in PS channel mixer, I noticed that it appeared like your rendition when the red channel was at 100% and the G and B were at 0%(the sky was dark and haloing was present). I balanced the channels and turned the blue up (there is lots of blue in your image). I needed to use the mask and an separate layer in channel mixer to keep the darks in the lower left cloud from blowing out. Then I did a contrast adjustment to press the darks in the wheel and wires a bit. Here's my result.

now viewing the BW close up, I'm still partial to the color version. there is haloing around the wheel and wires in this one and the sky seems too dark. I wonder what happened to create the halos? Antonia

I like the way you caught the sun in just the right spot. My shots like this never turn out this good. Great unique perspective, if I didn't know what it was I would think it bicycle wheel. Bob

I also prefer the dramatic effec the B&W gives. The only thing is that in this version the spokes seem to have a glow around them which is a little off putting. Excellent shot though
