the 70-300 is pretty versitle as you've seen with some of the macro & long distance shots...the problem the f4-5.6 is you need a fair amount of light or things get noisy...a 2.8 would be nice but not in the budget...thanks Den

Hey Larry, maybe I ought to take the 50-500 off once in a while, blow the dust off the 70-300 and see if I can get something approaching the quality of this. What a wonderful floral, such vivd colours. DOF is great too.

Wonderful DOF and colors. Excellent work! I recently uploaded a photo of what I think is the same type flower :) What's funny is I actually have a couple more shots of the flower and I titled one of them Golden ;)
