About A closeup of a sparkler.. playing around with my macro lens. I like the sparks of course but also that you can see the core of the sparkler. I was going to crop the left of the image but it put the sparkler too directly into the middle of the image so I did not crop the image at all.. this shot is basically straight out of the camera.

No PS work (except adding the borders)

I like the light effects of the sparkler, very suggestive shot and nice experiment too. You could also put the sparkler in a corner, just an idea ;) Bye, Max

It's nuclear! I like the way you can see the core too. It's really something that you got this straight from the camera...excellent. I want a macro lens (whine). Congrats on yours! Antonia

Hi Paul, Very cool and dynamic shot The sparks seemingly exploding from the sparkler, leaving a trail of light as well as the shallow DOF work well here. Nice short exposure, an excellent way of capturing this. Definately worth a try, thanks for the inspiration!

Cheers,

Hugo

Good idea and well executed. It almost looks like some kind of industrial shot in a foundry.

great shot! i like the sharp focus on the stick which is surrounded by a variety of blurred strokes of light! well captured, i would imagine its not too easy to get a picture of a sparkler, let alone a good one! well done! Kessia

I like the colors Paul, nice contrast for sure..and a great idea too..very creative, I wonder what this would look like with the brightest end pointing away from the camera, did you get any shots like that? Maybe not as spectacular, interesting though, I might have to try this some time. I have that lens but haven't used it yet...well done, definitely an eye catcher, great work Paul....:):)Linda
