Thank you Dave, finally I've made some research too, and find that your are right, huard is a little bit smaller and is neck is more darker, let say black, and mallard have a green or blue neck and a bit bigger than the huard. Thanks again Dave.

Hi Claude, I've just done a little checking, and I believe that a "huard", is what we call a "loon", which is similar to, but not the same as a duck. I'm sure your image is of a mallard, and a very nice one at that! Dave.

Hi Claude, I'm pretty certain your duck is a Mallard. I was wondering if the name Huard is French for Mallard? Dave.

Following the visit of your collection of images, I am not certain any more if the duck is a huard or a mallard, could you light me if the subject is different from the appellation that I gave him, my speciality is'nt in the animal field of the wildlife I perhaps named this one too quickly.
