Coincidentally, I took this shot in June in Cimetiere Pere-Lachaise. --george

(Pass the days and pass the weeks
Nor time slipped by
Nor old flame comes back
Under the Mirabeau bridge the Seine flows)

Lovely and mysterious. The very little I know of Appolinaire I learned from my friend, Roger Shattuck, who did wonderful translations and critical essays.

Best regards,
--George

Dark, darker, very dark, Drilan. It is amazing how good the trees can still be seen with that poor, but beautiful, light. Very good realisation of this verse by Apollinaire.

Regards, Markus
