It's a beautiful picture, Darlene. The contrasts of light and dark are symbolic of what has happened to so many. Also, these contrasts can symbolize hope as the blossoms seem to be leaning towards the light . BTW did you see that Antonia is going to put together a photoquilt with dedication pictures. See her note at http://www.usefilm.com/image/913922.html to add yours if you wish.

Ecellent use of the light. It makes a beautiful effect to have the petals lit in that manner. I like the DOF as well.

Nice sentiment Darlene,
Glad to here that you and your family are out of harms way. It must be incredibly stressful for your son and his family, not knowing what he will be returning to.

A very touching sentiment shared by all of us, Darlene. I'm glad your family is OK, and I hope they don't lose too much in the way of material things, but it is very sad for many people.
Dave.

Beautiful tribute, Darlene...warm, classy and perfectly presented. I don't know if it's the circumstances or my present mood, but the up-turned heads and warm red hues seem to offer hope.

Thank you so much Margaret. And yes, we do have a son that lives in New Orleans and I have a sister in Mandeville (which is right next to N.O.) They are all fine, but don't know what happened to their homes. It is so incredibly sad to see so much misery and feel helpless as to what to do......We continue to pray for them. Darlene

Overall it a great photograph; the only thing which bother me a bit is the focus point. The first thing I look at on the photograph is the closest petal (the one in the middle) which doesn't look in sharp focus as the green leaves seems to be. I don't know if it's just me or not but I always use to focus on the closest thing in such kind of photograph. Take care and congrats for your portfolio.
