Ron - thanks, this is a case where I almost missed the shot entirely. I have now decided that it is time to invest in a second camera body as in the time it took to switch from a 17-40 to the 70-200 I missed this cow's partner, only catching a shot as he shuffled off into the trees. There had been some wonderful landscapes just previously and we found the moose quite unexpectedly. In spite of the additional weight I think the extra body makes sense, it's now just a question of which one!
