Sarah's available light portrait was taken in a grove of trees, causing the high noon light to soften all around her. I chose the wide aperature to blur the background, to use it as a make shift backdrop.
Hello Kirkland, and yes, welcome to Usefilm I hope you enjoy it. Like Danny I like the depth of field and the position of her head. The area that troubles me is her left shoulder area. With her sweater the way it is, she appears larger than she actually is, and with the sunlight falling on it my eye is drawn to that area. I wonder if the camera were moved slightly to the left or further back would her body then match the slender curves in her face?
Hi Kirkland, first off welcome to Usefilm. I like the pose, the background is sufficiently blurred but the model needs more light on her face preferably a reflected light or a fill flash to get a catch light in the eyes.
