I would be over the moon with an image as good as just the reflection that you have here Darlene, but the subject is simply AWESOME. You must get a book published - it would certainly be a best seller.

Thanks, Darlene. I do appreciate the advice. My success with the birds around here has been (How shall I say?) limited. I am relatively new to the wildlife field, but I find it fascinating.

About Katrina: We found out a few days ago that my family on the Gulf coast survived with considerable damage to home and property. As I supposed, most chose to ride it out. Friends and family in New Orleans did evacuate, and so they are OK as well. Hope everything is going well for all your family and friends.

Best wishes,
--George

Darlene,
It is so hard to get white feathers or fur right. Beautiful job! Quite a coincidence... Next to eachother in my friends box, you and Thilo. One with white fur and a reflection, you with white feathers and a reflection.

George, The 300/4 lens with the 20 D is an awesome combination. I do have the 300/4 lens and it is incredibly sharp, I think you'll love it, especially with the 1.4 tc. Thanks for the comments, I really appreciate it. Are your friends from the storm area o.k.? Katrina really made a mess here in Louisiana. Everyone I talk to here in Lafayette has someone staying with them or knows someone from that area. It's so sad and everyone here is working really hard to help out, they need so much. Hope all is well with you and yours. Darlene

(I have my eye on a Canon 300mm f/4-L IS and perhaps a 1.4X extender. This would be for my 20D. Any advice?)

Darlene - Have to more than agree with the other comments that you have received! This is super - what a perfect reflections - super whites, crisp details, great composition, etc. Imagine you had a difficult time deciding which project to put this in, didn't you? My goodness, you shoot in some interesting places. This does deserve an award recognition. Jan

What a beautiful capture, there's two of them, hahaha, great reflection, I love the slight touch of pink in the reflection, and I can't get over how realistic that is, how far away were you for this one? I love the double angles..beautfiful work Darlene.

Superb work, Darlene...such fragile beauty you manage to capture in every foto. I want a large book of your images to curl up with at night in front of the fireplace.

What an intence look in the egret's eye.

The reflection you have captured is wonderful. You can try your whole life for a perfect one, without one hint of water blur. You got it!
This is very deserving of an award.
Congrats!

Best Regards
