About Facinating rock formations were passed on our drive between Arizona and Nevada and back again. This is another shot I took while the car was traveling about 65 miles per hour. Great little camera!

Hi Janice,
High pass sharpening is a neat tool in Corel and PS. Good tutorials, do a search.
In PS EL, PS, do Filters, Other, High Pass. A mask will cover the image, a screen will appear that lets you adjust the amount of effect. The greater the number, the more effect. After clicking OK, adjust the % in the layers tab and set your lighting in the drop down menu. Different lighting will do different things, playing with it will give you an idea of it's potential. Be careful, surreal effects can and will happen :-) When you have the image where you want it, remember to do, Layers, Flatten Image.
I've found that this tool can improve on detail in images, also that on some that it won't work at all. Also after resizing, use USM sparingly.

That sure is a great camera to get a shot with this kind of detail and clarity at 65 MPH. The lighting on the rocks looks really good. I think B&W was the right choice for this.

65 mph ?! Go for it, like the composition with the rocks being diagonal, metered well.Might get a bit more detail with a high pass sharpening.
Thanks for the comment on my image.

LOL for sure Lisa - somehow just don't think any serious photographer would even consider taking shots out the car window while bopping down the highway at a touch more than a sedate speed! :-D

Thanks, I am glad you like the B&W - wasn't sure if I should upload in color or not, but the shadows so so neat in the B&W - they made my decision for me! Jan

Usefilm should creat a new category in honor of all these fantasic shots you took at high speeds "Drive-By Shootings" (LOL).

Excellent photo of the rock formations. Love the B & W image and the clouds here look beautiful.
