i am a tremendous fan of your work! i think this shot/exposure is tremendous...the rear lighting on the tractor and of course the magic light through the opposite door/slats. terrific!

Anyone who has ever spent any time on a farm would have to love this shot, Janet! I just love the light streaming in around the doors! Really nice!

It's a lovely story that emerges from your "about" and subsequent comments. This shot is really helped by the light streaming in, and the tight composition.

excellent control of light. The strong lightsource behind the wall looks as if some UFOs have just landed, agree with the surreal touch in this respect. Very nice work.

Talked to my Dad and this tractor is still in use and he thought that it was a 1940 model. This is my Dad (same tractor and his manure behind him!) probably taken in the early 50's.

Thanks, David!!

Wonderful photo, the light seeping in through the cracks in the doors is surreal and the tones and shadows are great.

Sure did, Keseph! He actually had 3 Case tractors when I worked there growing up...and I want to say from they were from the 40's. I'll have to ask him again. I took this pic a few years ago so I am not sure that Case is still running, but the John Deere is, though that one is 'new'...probably from the early 80's.

That glare light coming in gives it a surreal look. Nice exposure, nice old iron! I like the lines created by the rafters and boards in the walls/doors. There's a pleasing repetition in the ladder pattern too!

Is this what you learned to drive with?
