About At one time, maybe in the early 20th century, this was THE place to stay in town if you were a cattleman with a herd to sell. Now it just reflects the level of decay seen through many of these little Gulf Coast towns. This is a place just waiting for the next hurricane to come through and blow it into a million pieces. I was going to clone out all the power lines but decided to leave them because they seem to reinforce the tackiness of the building.

Lovely capture of a most charming town, looks to be off of Route 66, your PS is good, looks very natural.

This little burg (where my daughter lives) is 60 some miles up the the coast from Corpus Christi. Although they evacuated, there was no damage to the town.

My sister and brother-in-law live in Corpus Christi TX, in the path of the second hurricane, but I understand it largely blew itself out before it struck. We've heard nothing from them but are not TOO worried...

The building doesn't look too tacky to me, and I wouldn't have even noticed the power lines if you hadn't pointed them out! (Comes of living in Japan.)
