The incredibly demanding and complex flight demos of the Blue Angels are stunning, but for me, the old war birds like this B-17G are the real heart of an air show. Sixty plus years old and combat veterans to boot, these mechanical wonders are still flying. To touch the aluminum skin is to keep in touch with my uncles who flew and fought in planes like this.
Thanks for taking the time to view the photo and comment on it. Although I'm basically a "ship" guy, there is a special place in my heart for aircraft. Normally I use my own film scanner, but since I lent it to a co-worker, I had the latest batch of film scanned at my favorite photo supply shop (Nelson Photo in San Diego). I like Fuji film, paticularly Reala, but my favorite films are Kodachrome and Panatomic-X. I went thru your portfolio and I was impressed. I'm very glad to see that you use film and some great old cameras
