About It opened again after Katrina Wednesday and we went today and had cafe amd beignets! They were wonderful and there were lots of families there with their children, it almost looked like any other day in the Quarter before the storn, until the National Guard and the New York Ciity Police walk by! The rest 0f the city is trying but it will be a loong time before the city is back to work as usual!!

Glad you liked it Bill....and yes, the powdered sugar was flying!! I snapped an image of a little girl with a ring of white around her mouth, unfortunately it was a blurry one but it was so great to watch her, she was really enjoying those beignets! And so did I!! And it was busy but not like it used to be. I hope that New Orleans can come back! Darlene

Glad to see the cafe is open again. It was a ritual, every Sunday morning Grandpa would take us to 6:30 a.m. Mass at the Cathedral and them to Cafe du Monde (before the tourist hit)! Needless to say, our thoughts during Mass were covered in powdered sugar! Thanks for the memories Darlene! Regards--Bill Voizin

I remember hereing about this place opening on the news. I like how you have decided to portray it through it's logo in this wonderful portrait. Alison

Darlene,
Another shot that captures the mood perfectly.
A B&W version might even be stronger.
Even though the mood of this lady is still a little down, you know for sure the people of that city will bounce back!

Nice street portrait Darlene! Nice choice in color I think, because of the green on the hat.
