There was so much talk here about conventional/unconventional, even feminism was mentioned...I wonder why? This is such a simple and beautiful way to show "For better and for worse" imagistically!Which is very conventional!!! But when the bride wears a dress which leaves half of her upper body naked.....is it conventional? No! Brides used to wear all covering dresses conventionally!!!So this is an unconventional couple from the start and I bet they'd be very happy to get Ina's unconventional shot as a keepsake! Gabriela

Hi again Gyuri, I don't want to keep you away from your business in Salzburg, but I'll answer this one - it's too tempting:) If it has a feminist slant, it was probably my unconscious taking over - some decisions are made that way!

Good to see the bride as well. The rather threatening black shadow of the bridegroom gives the pic a slightely aggressive feminist touch. At least in my interpretation. Was it intentional? Anyway, it is a powerful statement. I side with Kathy, Andryej and Aram about unconventionality. This is just the strength of the pic. Warm regards, dear Ina, Gyuri

Perfect interpretation, Aram, thank you! There is more than meets the eye, and you are very correct in your assumptions. I don't know these people, but for me it is a "generic" image of a lot of assumptions we make with regards to this particular event. I did not need to identify a Mr. and Mrs. X/Y, nor did I wish to include anything that was colorful. As you rightly observed, there is sufficient information to draw many conclusions. Thanks for taking the time to comment, Ina

Great and creative: I agree with "unconventional" because of the missing heads and see in the dark suit some possible feminist interpretation: the bride presents a complexity of bright and shiny shapes and the groom just a straight opaque, solid and dark mass. Beautiful contrast. The only human sign of the groom is his hand that "holds" his future wife. While her fingers are spaced and let suppose that she is not forcing or restricting... I've already mentioned: Illusion is the oxygen of mind!!
Thanks for sharing this nice shot.

Hello Ina - I shoot in sub-optimal conditions too (all the time). Just telling it like I see it - sometimes I'm too obvious...

Hi Stefan, I saw it, but if I crop the left side, then he ends up with a thinner leg:) These were not posed for me, I just happened to be there, in the park, and caught a moment w/out people behind them.

Ina, it's great that you did not modiglianized this specific point of view, even if vieved as artistic it could be considered offensive. Laughing too. n.j

Thank you Susie, I have to look up the forum on DPReview.com, there were some extraordinary weddings pics at some point on the Canon 300D forum, if I find the link I'll send it to you. Plus a million tips, if you go there on the forum, just type "wedding" and you'll find tons of advice on how to do it. All I remember is to have at least one back-up camera!

I think the groom's dark suit blocks out a bit too much of this image (graphically speaking...)

Beautiful shot and great perspective. Kathy and I are shooting our neices wedding next April and are a "little" bit nervous about it. :) Shots like these give us ideas though! Thanks! This is really very pretty Ina.

Hi Kathy, I never thought it's unconventional, I'm surprised actually (pleasntly so) that you and Andrzej had a more or less similar comment. I thought this was done regularly? I just liked the clasped hands and the dress detail. Don't know who they are, but wish them a long & happy life together :)

Hi Andrzej, you made me laugh! On the other hand they should be grateful that I didn't turn them into another Modigliani :) This is AS SENSITIVE AS I GET!

Ina, definitely it's not a perfect wedding picture that the couple would frame and keep forever, unless they are the same artistic souls. The image is presenting unconventional point of view and only a couple of symbols avers the great moments and emotions that the couple is going through. The sepia tone is great here and is adding a sense of timelessness to the moments. Classy piece of art. Cheers, n.j
