Photographer: Tina Maas (Karma=21)

About: Tina Maas studied Graphic Design at Camberwell College of Arts in London from which she graduated with a BA in 2000. During her studies she took part in a semester long exchange program to Parsons School of Design in New York City where she was first introduced to photography. As a result of her studies abroad she met and assisted fine art Photographer Jill Enfield for 3 months.
After her graduation Tina traveled extensively for one year throughout Eastern Europe, the Mediterranean and South East Asia, where most of her travel photography originates. She has been adding to her collection from subsequent trips ever since. Following her trip she lived in Israel for more than a year where she had 2 articles published in the travel magazine "Teva HaDvarim" and exhibited at the "Sus Ez" Café.
Tina has been writing book reviews and conducted interviews for the photography website takegreatpictures.com and also assisted on several mentor series photo treks, which are run by American Photo Magazine and Popular Photography Magazine.
She spent the summer of 2003 working for the Santa Fe Photographic workshops in Santa Fe, New Mexico, assisting many well known photographers and expanding her experience of both B&W and color photography, in the studio and on location.
Having returned to live in England again, Tina had her first solo exhibition at the "Islington Arts Factory", in March 2004, where she displayed her Prison tintype work. She has also taken part in the “Hype” group show at the Truman Brewery, the International Open Image Competition at the Waterloo Gallery and exhibited at the Center for Fine Art Photography in Colorado, USA.
Currently Tina is studying for her Masters Degree in Photography at Central Saint Martins College of Art and is looking forward to her graduation show in June this year at the Mall Gallery.
