About Thought it would be interesting to see how this looked focusing on one flower versus the entire bed. As always more of my images can be seen at http://www.artbeacon.com/jmg-galleries. Thanks for your time and comments.

beautiful result, nice presentation - isolating the one flower and only really brings impact upon us, plus we're able to appreciate the beauty of this flower.

What could we improve in this image?
Well, I think you have a excellent picture, but maybe I would try to bring back some of the colour of the green leafs around (foreground tips and fading back, maybe just around 35%), just so the blend looked more natural, not a harsh change from B/W to colour. Just a suggestion on play, as I think it already works as it is.

Jim, I am a member one day and just have seen all Your photos in Your portfolio. Hardly to say which is better. All of them are absolutely beautiful and this tulip is very clear by bw and coloured parts. By the way, thanks for Your comment. (I am sorry for my English)

Marvellous composition - your idea, to focusing on this one flower, was brilliant ;-)

This is wonderful, Jim. How lucky you are to live in San Franscisco. I lived in Santa Barbara for three years and only wish that I would have enjoyed photography during that time.

Jim, I love the photo! I very much think that the color on B&W is a fabulous way to make thing interesting and you've proved that here. Great work! Regards, Dan

Jim, this is a stunning photo. This is just me thinking out loud, but I wonder how it would look with a greater DOF? The red flower is already strong focal point because of the color and position. To my eye, the heavily out of focus flowers in the far back almost become distracting. Just putting the idea out there for discussion.

Very beautiful image with wonderful selective coloring. Lovely creative work. Thanks for your comments Jim. The Eagle image is cropped by approximately one third, so what you see is two third of the entire slide....Best regards Harry

This is a stunning photo. The red is absolutely exquisite, enhanced by the monochrome background.
