This picture was shot at the "Dog Fence", during the course of my 4915Km Bicycling Trek from Melbourne to Darwin in 2002. Many people would have perhaps heard of the Rabbit Proof Fence which crosses through the Australian Outback, but there is also a so called "Dog Fence", a special grill across the highway etc. I was taking a rest at this landmark spot when a "left hand drive" vehicle suddenly pulled over and startled me a little bit. Of course there were all those Falconio murder stories still fresh in the media and local gossip at the time! But this bloke turned out to be some true character and even more so his Dingo cross dog, the kind of dog the Dog Proof Fence was to keep out. This was a funny thing here this dog getting such special treatment, for it's own sake well deserved.
