I love the colours and textures of the stone, very tactile, but I wish you'd chosen a different sky. I also find the shadow a bit dense. Rather than CS, which many complain about being very slow, I suggest you try the corresponding function in Power Retouche. It does amazing things with black levels and shadows! The demo is free.

Hi Chris,

I love churches and cemetaries, and I'm really not wierd (imo anyway). ANYWAY, I like this a lot, love the detail in the church.

True we can't always photograph in the 'ideal' situations. I do use CS, and was curious after reading the remarks below. So...yes, I 'took' this and performed the magic 'highlight/shadow' filter. The 'auto' was too much, but you can play with the settings. Pretty neat. If you are interested in seeing it, let me know.

Very nice work!!!
Lori :)

Good point, Keith, but it was one of those cases where you either take it or you don't! As I didn't have an external light source with me, (neither do I yet possess Photoshop CS, with its magic shadow filter), there wasn't a great deal I could do about it!
Thanks for your honesty ~ you and Roger keep me thinking!
Kind regards, Chris

Hi Chris, very nice church, however I find the very dark shadows under the lh tree a little too heavy, and this unbalanced the image. I also have to say I find the sky a touch too overpowering too, but again I know its your 'postcard' style so I forgive you ;-)

Lovely quaint church with the angled headstones. Pretty blue sky with gentle clouds. Great job on the framing.
