Beautifully done, Dokko! The yellow rim with backlighting is simply superb. You made the most of the advantageous lighting, and the image is crisp, clean, simple and striking.

I have tried shots like this in the past but have always struggled with the framing. No such problems here.

Brilliantly done, Vojtech! I like the full sense of motion in this one, and also the way the divers in the foreground create little frames inside the image, separating the observers on the far end.

Do you have the photo taken by the other photograper???

Hi Vojtech. Thanks for your comment.

There is no saturation in the top part because of the very low cloud covering the top of the mountain. Do you mean that you think it is too bright?

Regards,
Angelo.

Nice one, Danny. No butts about it! Er...

Excellent juxtaposition.

Just one question: why not just crop out the right edge to get rid of whatever it is you wanted to hide?

Beautifully abstract, Danny. The still metal latch balances out all the motion very well.

Nice little series, Danny. Good motion capture. The streaks add a textre to the water.

What do you think of this whole upgrad palaver?

It took so long, yet the site seems slower now, and the functionality seems the same.

Hi Laurie!

I like the innovative angle on this one. I also like the selective focus, and in my opinion it is just right, showing off the petals very nicely. The focus on red #2 seems a bit off compared with this one.

Beautiful overall composition, the reds look lush and very inviting.

Wonderful high-key image. Very impressive translucent quality to the petals.

The toning is exquisite and, in my opinion, complements the image very well.

Good work, full of impact, and very artistic.

Wow! Is this for real??? Great timing, and a very nice unusual view of Venice.

Challenging subject.

The stark contrast and framing add a lot of impact by concentrating the viewer on the gruesome struggle going on.

It looks very painful for the man. I hope he was alright after this...

Interesting use of perspective. It looks like the smaller tree is growing out of the trunk of the bigger one.

Lovely b&w conversion in this photography. The textures come out very nicesly indeed...

Wonderful glowing light in this one. A beautiful dreamy mood to the whole image. It makes me wonder what smells there are in the field, what the breeze feels like, and I can almost feel the warmth of the place.

Very well done.

Looks like an idyllic place with the beautiful creeper leaves.

Nice capture, but why this angle? Did you try a more static angle directly underneath?

I like the colours on the vegetation. Well captured with the very flat lighting.

This is very well seen and presented, Paul. I like the alternative view.

But perhaps the granite face itself is a little "flat" in terms of light. Or is it just my eyes?

Take care!
Angelo.

Nice colours, Paul.

I saved a copy of your forum thread "Usefilm Photographers Who Left", as I could easily predict it would be removed.

Perhaps that kind of action explains why some chose to stop contributing, or leave. It's happened very often, and it will continue to happen.

Regards,
Angelo.

The soft look combined with the subdued colours all add up to a nice old-fashioned look and feel, Pat.

A nice model, here. Or is that a moo-del?

I particularly like the patel-like colours.

Nice work.

If your eye was caught by the blurred people, you need glasses !!!

This is one where the camera needs to "see" for us, and you made it do that very well.

Hand-held? Very well held, sir! A tripod would have allowed 1/8s and a bit mor blur.

Excellent blurry image, Thilo. Great colours, and excellent contrasts in tone, motion/sharpness and orientation (horizontal lines, vertical subject) withing the picture.

Very well crafted and deserving of the award.

Interesting use of the DOF. Concentrates the attention on her face and eyes, and softens the details from the body.

Good work, Claude.

Danny,

They only have to defend against China, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Burma etc... They do have a sizeable army. And nukes.

I'm not sure I get your angle on the "desperate/accepting" look, Thilo. I don't know what he would complain about. He has a business and can provide for his family.

To me he looks curious, as in "why the heck would that weirdo foreigner want to photograph me"?
