It's actually a man (a drag queen). As for the skin, LOTS of Dermablend (a type of very thick foundation makeup that requires a spatula and a hair dryer to apply), and a bit of healing brush in Photoshop around the eyes. ;) Throw in very light tones and soft-focus diffusion, and, well, there ya have it. Hope this helps, and thanks for commenting. :)

Makes a wonderful abstract. I'd hang this on my wall. :) Nice, soft tones, great texture, good use of DOF. I'm impressed. Keep up the work! :)

Oooo...I love the form in this one. He's twisting around like a vine, and it's graceful as a result. Definitely an image to be pround of. It helps that the little thing's just downright adorable. ;)

Excellent image. I love the mood...almost whimsical, and it certainly brought a smile to my face. :)

Great tone, texture, etc. Well done. :)

I'm really liking your work. Great moods, lots of emotion, and enticingly dark...some of my favorite kind of work. :) Keep it up!

This is SUCH a great portrait. Dark, almost menacing in a way, but still strangely inviting. I like the toning, the expression. EXCELLENT job! :)

Two absolutely beautiful faces, with two very intense stares. The lady looks like Gillian Anderson (from X-Files), and the guy looks like a face one might see in a classical marble sculpture. I really like this pic. Very dramatic. :)

Simple, and, as a result, simply magnificent. Even regal. This is something from a dream, to be sure. I'm seriously impressed with all of it...exposure, lighting, composition/framing, and the overall mood. like this one a lot.

VERY well-done picture, but clowns scare the hell out of me, and this one seems particularly happy about the idea of killing me in my sleep. ;) Aside from my fears of clowns, I like the DOF and lighting in this image. The expression is good, too. Nice use of that lens. :)

I love abstracts, and I love complementary colors. When the two are combined, well...needless to say, this image impresses me. :) It's actually soothing, even though it's busy as all get-out. But then, Zen gardens are soothing, even though they're very busy, too. I love all the lines in this. They lead my eyes into the image, all around inside it, then back out the other side. I don't feel trapped in it.

Great job. :)

Though, as I usually feel compelled to say in images in which the poster gives absolutely no information, it would be prudent for you to provide all applicable details of what you used to make the image, etc., even if you don't feel like explaining how you did it. This is, after all, a website for teaching and learning, first and foremost. For those who simply wish to showcase their work, Yahoo has a great online album service, and it's free. There're also always real-life galleries.

I REALLY like the lighting of this image. The expression, the color, everything about it is moody, even sombre.

The only concerns I really have with it are the shelf or whatever it is in the background and the softness of the focus. Not only does the shelf cut right through the kid's head, but it's also just a bit of a distraction. However, it looks like it would be easy enough to burn in that area to make it completely black.

The focus looks a bit off, but that could simply be a lack of sharpening after resizing, so I'm not quite as concerned with that. It's just worth noting, I think.

Besides these two rather minor issues, I think this is a great image, and it actually makes me feel something. My favorite kinds of pictures are just that--images that illicit emotion. Good job. :)

Excellent image. Great texture and tone. Good lighting. Wonderful expression...and not just the guy's. The expression of the picture, too. Impressive job! :)

Moody, even dreamy lighting. Makes me wish I were the size of a bug, so I could see these things as enormous structures upon which to frolic. :) Good shot.

That shrub, bush, tree or whatever looks absolutely menacing...evil. The overall effect makes this image kinda creepy, but that's a good thing. I like creepy. :)

Why, thank you. You've got some great stuff too. Highly erotic, without the appearance of being intended solely for that purpose. Keep up the great work.

Now this is a moving image, and I don't just mean the motion in the picture. It's touching. I love the mood. It's darkly toned, but not in a menacing or sad way. It's more like a dream, as is the softness of the parts in motion. I like the framing, everything. Great job.

I've never been to southern California, though I've been contemplating traveling out there to meet a person from Yahoo chat rooms who's in the Air Force. He's in Iraq for the next six months doing some engineering stuff, but once he returns, I hope to fly out to meet him. We've been discussing my doing a photo shoot of him for some time. Perhaps, if I manage to get out your way, we can hook up and get some pictures made. I love doing portraiture, and, if there's anything I can teach you, I'll be more'n happy to do that, too! Take care.

You look...I dunno...surprised? Hard to believe that camera snuck up on you and startled you that much. I like the sand and such stuck to your face. Adds a bit of a tell-tale sign of where you were when you took it. You have very intense eyes. You also appear to be very handsome. I'd like to see you post a self-portrait that better shows you as you usually are. I'm sure it'd be quite something to behold and enjoy. Thanks for posting!

Moody, serene, yet melancholy. There is something about a cloudy sky over huge bodies of water that makes me feel...alone. Goes great with some "Terminal Frost" by Pink Floyd. I love the composition in this. Normally, I'm not fond of horizons being in the middle of the image. I prefer them placed closer to the bottom on sea-shots. However, in this image, it's all about the people on the left, and they're very well placed as to round out the picture quite nicely. Well done!

This image is just fun and full of whimsy. The colors are nice...the shadows and highlights dramatic, the tone warm (which matches, very well, the overall mood of the image), and I like the composition. Though I'm usually not fond of centered subjects, I don't mind it in this picture. This really is a great image. Good job.

Nice image. Dark, contrasty, grainy, mysterious...even dark and foreboding. Composition is wonderful. Framing is fantastic. I would hang this on my wall.

Oh my. I hadn't even noticed that this thing got BIP. I was going through my album to see what pictures, if any, I wanted to remove from it, and I saw something about awards on the left side of the screen, and when I clicked it, this picture popped up. I'm so ignunt...I got it months ago, and I just now realized it.

I apologize to the staff if I've come across as ungrateful. I honestly just didn't realize I'd gotten anything, 'cause I've never received any sort of "award" for any of my work before. I just post to try to get critiques that'll help me improve, or to show people what can be done with a camera, and how, 'cause, even though I'm no expert, I'm no longer a beginner, either, so I feel I might be able to teach someone something along the way. But, thanks for the BIP award, y'all. I feel all giddy.
