With macro you can bring a new alternative view of quite common subjects to people. Most people don't realise what beauty there is "beneath their feet".
I think during the years, one of the good aspects of photography in my life was that it learned me to look in a different - more open way - to my surroundings.
In a forest, in streetlife or in a building for example, I often notice that I look at other aspects than friends who don't spend time on this "writing with light" adventure.
