The reason i took this photo is because I think that it tells a little story of the cycle of life: the broken tree trunk lies dipped and decaying in the stream, which is, of course, carrying its nutrients around the forest to contribute towards feeding the lush green thatch that dominates the rest of the image. From the reflections you can see how still and calm the scene is so I chose to try and accentuate this emotion by blurring the water trickleing down the rocks to a mere fluff of activity.
Thanks for the feedback lads, I do always use a tripod for these sort of exposures, but I suspect that either the cheap lens I had to use back then, or, more likely, the humidity has condensed on it and made the centre a bit unsharp. As such, this has become an idea or work in progress to be perfected on my return to the jungles in the future.
I think it is a well-balanced shot. It may be the scan, but it seems soft. Did you use a tripod? If not, I think using one for your landscape shots will take you to another level. Keep them coming.
