About I usually get these Great Blue Herons Flying low through the Grasslands, So when I saw this guy flying high I tried to make the best of it. I chose to leave the background folage in, dont know if that was good or bad?

Great image, Marcus! Wonderful detail and clarity. I like the background, it gives a little depth to the shot and a clue as to the environment.

Amazing clarity and sharp details, excellent work, I think both will work with or without the background features, depend upon the purpose of the final subject.
Fabulous

Excellent sharpness, your fast shutter did a great job of stopping the action. I have tried this with my 200 2.8, but really need the longer lens. I purchased a 2x, but I feel it degrades the quality. IRS return soon, maybe I will have a longer fast lens soon. Thank you for your comment on my "Hawk in sunlight", you have many great photos in your Portfolio.
Regards, Bill C.

Hi Marcus,
I have no problem with the background at all. I think the Heron is positioned perfectly in the image, in relation to the trees. It looks great like this. Your usual pin sharp bird in it's natural habitat.
PS
I just read what other people said... it looks like the background wins!

These guys look prehistoric! Well captured, and I like the background left in. It adds some nice texture to the shot.
