Doyle: Thanks for being so perceptive and thoughtful in your critique. This blossom opened yesterday and received some overnight irrigation which partially wet a petal or two. No water placement done. Actually, I think this photo would have worked better with just the backlighting and no water, but as impationt as I am, I wanted to photograph it immediately. I plan to reshoot this plant again without any water, hopefully. The colors are very unusual, in that we have a yard full of reds, whites with green/red stripes, and dark salmon colored ones. I wanted to print it and return the gift to my wife's aunt in the form of a hangable picture. Thanks again, you are right in your comments, and they are very helpful. Anson

Anson: This is a very good capture. In my opinion, I would work on the lighting though.....it appears to be backlit on the top left quadrant alone. Your focal point appears to be on the droplets of moisture in the lower left quadrant. It probably would have been bett placed on the stamens. If you wanted to capture the droplets, I think (again, in my own opinion) that the compostion should have been cropped to make it clear that the droplets were the intended focus. This is good work and you have an elegant presentation . . . I look forward to looking through your portfolio -
