woodpecker.. fantastic pose and silhouette, another great catch and lucky moment.. soon, often I have felt the woodpecker in the forests, much 2wildlife", but never the time to stop me.. perhaps if it were a job.. I would have way to hit with the shots!!! therefore it remains only from to listen and in the memory of the nature that is beautiful ..

hahaha...woody's expression is goofy and he looks catatonic!...good to mix it up with still shots vs. in flight motion ones IMO...this reminds me of a color plate in a book because of the contrasting colors and clarity...good details of the bark,Marcus

Oh dear he saw you first so he thought he would go standstill so as not to catch your attention unfortunatly any bird on sight catches yours thus this steady capture:).He should have curved into that part of the log where its slightly carved out:) wondering if he did wud u have seen him still?:).Have a nice time!!!

I like the fact that it isn't in flight. I think you have spoiled the members of UF by always showing them top notch images of birds in flight. It is about time that you showed them something a bit out of the norm.....make them appreciate what they had.

good capture Marcus, the details in this bloke are beautiful, the washed out sky behind his head is my only nitpick for this shot, but what can you do on a cloudy day.

A great story and a wonderful portrait. He looks a bit like a street tough--with those spiky feathers and the bold colors. Great detail on the log, too. Very nice capture--even if he's not in flight! ;-)
