You captured this portrait in a very distinct light but also at a very distinct moment, while he seems to visualize something from his thoughts, perhaps speaking also to himself about that.
Very nice transition from light to shadow on his face that enhances plasticity and the sense for depth. The blurry background is another big plaus as it isolates the Tibetan in his thoughts from the surroundings, giving thus more emphasis to being isolated for some seconds from all the outer world.
