Thank you very much Ron!
Yeah, pulling this lens out is like whipping out a bazooka in a knife fight, when you're taking pictures at a crowded yard sale in your driveway!
Thanks so much for the comments!
(love the lens!!)

Way to go Joel. Portraits with this lens are really awesome. My family runs for cover when I pull out the white monster. The L glass really shines but it is oh so unforgiving. I think facial lines add character. Regards Ron.

Howdy pops-
Have not shown these to Dale and Lyn yet...they took off for a needed vacation up north after the yard sale (where these images came from). Dale can't wait to see them! Kinda' cool detail to see redwoods in the reflections of his glasses.
Wait till you try this lens. It's got a wicked learning curve, but the payoff is beautiful!

Thank you Peta!
The 24-70 is still my battle-axe lens, but this new 100-400L is the perfect compliment. Weighs a TON, but the payoff always floors me when I see the detail. low light shots are amazing!!
thanks again, and good to hear from you!

thank you very much!
Got a new lens as a treat for working for 4 weeks straight... and finding new joy of shooting with a 400mm lens :) It's a workout, but the results are stunning. I have much to learn!
thanks again!
