Notice how the autofocus chose to emphasize the badly dressed woman, who is incomprehensibly dour despite her location on the Piazza San Marco in Venice. To her right is the girl who loaned me her SLR when my P&S failed. What first inspired you to press a shutter button?
Are you objecting on my use of the word "chose?" If you're asking for clarification, you should pose a clear question. The autofocus randomly picked a spot to focus on. That's what autofocus does.
