Amazing shot, wow, the result is great and your idea very original AJ, one of the best and...most dangerus textures!!! Excellent!

saw the title and laughed, Great idea.. having a look at that, and from a miniatures perspective, if you coloured them green you would have a miniature forest.. different colour greens and voila! little green trees. You have given me yet another idea! thankyou!

Doyle: of course, it could all get VERY smutty, but such comments would never occur to me...

AJ

PS. The shops round here are becoming intrigued by my purchases. Today it was a packet of balloons and a fishtank. Could be a while before they are put to good use, but you can bet they'll be playing a starring role on UF before too long.

Interesting shot. Ok . . . how'd you lose the horizon for that? . . . that's a neat trick! Oh . . . and I gather this is a collection of screws of various different lengths and yet all of good quality. Uhhhh . . . the jokes are just gonna HAVE to write themselves . . . HEHEhehehee . . . Hmmmmm . . . I need to post to this project! Perhaps something not quite so screwy . . . ;)

Regards,
Doyle I <~~~~~

Doyle: yes, I feel I should apologise for the title, though I admit to a little giggle myself when I came up with it!

All good points - goes without saying! And I do have all sorts of variations on this theme, including a lower light source, more regular patterns, less regular patterns etc. It was a hard job to pick out the one I considered worked best but, well, I figured this was it... Of course, I could always upload the other 120 and see what the UF preference was, though I suspect terminal boredom would set in after two or three. So here's a special taster just for you.

(Groan) John . . .

"If a wood screw could screw wood?"? I'm ashamed to say, as hokey as it is . . . I laughed out loud.

I like the DOF on this one and I really like the creativity in coming up with a subject for this project. It's a difficult one but I have a thought or two as well.

Now looking at the foreground DOF blur I see the circles of light in various tones. The BG blur is not as pronounced and it gives a good feel to the depth (which I guess is a long way of me repeating - I like the DOF). The couple of overexposed spots on the left don't particularly bother me at all since the image is repetitious forms anyway . . .

What I'm particulary thinking about is what would this look like with a lower light source . . . I think it might add more definition and shadow and that the dark tones would blend very well with the golden colors here. Had you considered a different light source or light location?

Anyway, that's off the topic of this image . . . and I think this one works nicely!!

Doyle I <~~~~~

AJ -- Great color and geometry on this one. Excellent still life and I really like the way you handled the selective focus and composition.
