About The Forth Bridge was opened in 1964 by HM Queen Elizabeth II & at that time was the largest suspension bridge in Europe.

Including the approach viaducts it measures over 1 1/2 miles (2 1/2 km) long. It has a central span of 3300 ft (over 1 km) between its too main towers.

In 2001 this bridge was listed as a category 'A' building.

More information can be found about this bridge, as well as the rail bridge that also crosses the river Forth, at the following link -

Thank you David... I cant reply to your comment in the forum as I am no longer a member :/

Your comment on this photo is really nice... I've said many times in comments that photos are special to me for the memories they contain can be priceless... it is really nice to know that not only do my photos bring back my own special memories but also those of others.

This bridge is found just outside of Edinburgh over the Forth & from what you've said it does sound like the bridge you are thinking of.

Alas, I'm very disheatened with UF now & the way it is ran & I will be posting my photos on my own website, you will be more than welcome to come along & leave comments anytime :)

Thank you once again
Keep well & bright

Hi Sue, I was in the donor only forum causing a bit of havoc and so came to your shots and this one in particular.....it is a beutifully executed picture of an awesome structure, you have done it proud....I worked near Haddington while this was being built in 1963, the bridge is near Prestopans isn't it?......further north to the Tay and the scene of a tragic rail bridge disaster years ago.....a wonderful part of the world that I remember fondly....your shots are great, keep up the good work. cheers, david.

Thanks Keith... a wonderful part of the world right on our doorstep... can't believe it's taken me so long to get there myself :) & can't wait to go further north still!

No word of a UF trip this year?
I vote for that castle in Aberdeenshire! lol

Hope you are keeping well x

Very nice composition here, Sue, and the effects you've used enhance the shot, which I'd imagine was difficult in that light.
Dave.

I know it was handheld and pretty low light when we took shots around here - this has turned out really well. What's the PS effect you've used on this one?
