Onie -- Thanks so much for the comments and for confirming my suspicion that this is not a phenomena unique to the US. As for the "we reserve the right"..... I assume they have at least two reasons: 1.) They suddenly realize they have a prized piece of merchandise and decide to with-hold a sale until they figure out the true value; 2.) Someone is buying a religious article that appears to be for the wrong reasons. That is my story and I am sticking to it! :) --Best to you, Jan

~~GRIN~~ Jan... We do have Thrify Shops here in Aussieland Jan... From the Salvation Army, St Vincent de Paul, most religious denominations have them... We could pick this lovely lady up and place her right here in either of our two thrift shops... and our twin towns have a pop. of around 8,000... Volunteers, they do a wonderful job the world over... A nice study of daily life to provide others with their daily bread Jan... All the religious items and reminder notes, the calculator, cash tin, paperwork, all neatly tidied and placed at the ready...
I love the * we reserve the right to refuse to sell any item *... I am wondering giving the nature of the shop, just who would fit that criteria...:)
Extra nice B&W Jan...:)
Onie...

I was amused by all the signs, notes and postings; I should have had a panoramic camera to show the other walls. No bare wall was immune to a sign, note, rule or notice. --Jan

You hit it right on the nose. There were so many signs and rules, I figure we would have to seek permission from the Church to be permitted to buy anything. The ladies were very nice and friendly. --Jan

Hey there Jan, I love this image, so many details, so much to read and look at. The ladies 'pose' is great too, perched there behind the counter, making sure everyone abides by the shop policies. Great stuff!
