What an authentic take of a moment in the usual everyday of transportation! It could be seen as an image of a newspaper that only exists in the mind of the photographer, much like the real newspaper in the hands of the woman in the foreground.
The light and details are very good, and I think that the combination of the two images makes the effect of each of them stronger. It resembles a study of an individual embedded in a crowd but without really having much relation to anybody else than the own self. The image on the left needed perhaps a bit better focus.
