About Three years ago tropical storm Ivan hit this coast hard. Wind and flooding severely damaged the beach, buildings and the coastal savana. While they were cleaning up from Ivan the area was hit again by Katrina. They have done an amazing job of restoring the beaches and reconstructing the buildings. In this image taken in Alabama near the Florida/Alabam border you can see cranes working in the background on the construction of new hotels and condos.

I have been fortunate to miss these storms but seeing the impact 3 years later I can only image what it might be like to experience such an extreme event. Thanks for viewing.

Hey Joe I was hit in Ivan toooo !! It was the storm that finally ran me out of Florida ! After 4 huricannes I got scared and now I come back to Oregon--- and what happens ..yet another huricanne - I am not sure if they will name this one as the winds were 125 m/p/hr..well the gusts were, and so much damage it will take a long time for repairs...

Good shot my friend ,
Michele~

Thanks very much Dave, I agree that the bend rod adds interest to the composition. I just wish I had shot it with the horizon not so close to the middle of the image. The dark rocks along the far short accentuate this.

I like the contrast you've shown here, Joe, between the fisherman enjoying his pastime and the buildings and construction in the background. A nice action shot with the bent rod, too.
Dave.
