Extraordinarily innovative John! I've missed watching the creativity bloom from some...like yourself. NICE! (I'll be looking at more of your stuff as I get more time...)
I'm still seeing this as so crfeative and unique...i can think of nothing I've seen like it. That said, I'm curious about the back right die. It seems to have a deflected vapor trail...but without a bounce?? What up with that buddy??

One thing I did discover, Rina, is just how far dice can travel once they drop off the table and hit the marble floor... They seem to have some sort of internal guidance system - if the door is open they will be through it like a shot and be off down the stairs before the flash has faded away.

Again great work, and also I like that the one dice is sharp and the others at the back have the motion blur, excellent work, love that the blur parts looks like ...fire... hehehe... also almost to get 5 dices with the No6 on the side we watch... almost! :-D

It is indeed a single shot, James. I've just done a quick check and it seems I took about 200 shots over 3 or 4 sessions. But actually, after a little experimentation with lighting, a high proportion turned out OK. The ones I'm putting on UF are just a few that I particularly like, perhaps because of the arrangement of the dice, the shape of the tails or the numbers that are showing.

Wonderful words to provide an excellent choice of title for this amazing second throw of the dice AJ. Fantastically innovative and highly creative. I love the blurred movement in the four spinning die in complete contrast to the static one. I love too the hint of subtle colour tone born from the lighting element. Beautifully and thoughtfully composed plus a perfect presentation. I wish I had the knowledge to be as creative my friend. Interesting that you picked up on the dice in the foreground - this was totally intentional but was questioned in the previous image "Tumbling". Maybe it works better in this one.
As to the "firey tails", well there's a hint about that reference in the name of the alleged author of the words...

Many thanks, Jen. I agree with you about the "still life" category - this scene is definitely not still! But I understand that this is the correct category when applied to photography. Please let me know if I am wrong!
As to the macro lens, yes it's great, but it's the first one that gets left at home when I am travelling due to being less flexible than my other lenses.

Fantastic creative work, AJ. Love the phrase that goes with it, especially the part about the "firey tails" which you've so wonderfully recreated with the great color and slow shutter. Also very clever of you to place one of the dice in the foreground with the focus on it throwing the rest of the moving dice out of focus. A work of genius! 7/7
