Thanks for the comments so far. The can was essentially flat when I picked it up off the road. I think I was mainly attracted to the new surface texture the can acquired.
Yes, you are right. It looks flat, but I think the can is flat. But I think this orientation of the can should be 'allowed', as any orientation should. I understand what you mean, Kim, but I think this representation is as valid as yours. It just depends on what you want and how you see it.
Love the lighting, but I think that the can is too two dimentional in this layout. Maybe try turning the top of the can towards the camera slightly to give it a more "real" feel.
