J'adore !
French gardens give you lots of opportunities of photos like this one, but getting them in the box is something else !

This is wonderful, Patricia -- very bizarre and funny to me. Good funny, in the way that someone like Elliott Erwitt is funny. It's just a way of catching things that's a sort of visual pun.
And, your tones are fabulous. Really nicely done.

Another wonderful example of your 'eye' Patricia. When I finally get off my duff, and out of the house with camera you have inspired me to look harder and see! :) I agree with all Carol saw in this.

Thanks Carol! - you saw the same thing I did the day I walked up the stairs to this spot. The title "reflection" is a double entendre for me - the reflection of the statue in the man's position (or visa versa) and the his attitude of contemplation.

This is an interesting shot for various reasons: the position of the man (with his back to us), the position of the empty chair (awkwardly set alone in front of the man, rather than more comfortably beside him), then the head of the statue framed by the arches -- looks like the head of the statue and of the man are exactly in the same position... like one is the animate and the other is the inanimate version of the man. Does this sound wierd? :-) Either way, my eye was drawn to the seated man, then the empty chair, then the statue. The framing of the trees finishes off the composition nicely. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I really like this!

I like how the sitter directs your eye. Great framing and repetiton. And no distracting colour!
